Research to support evaluation of the Zero Waste Towns programme
Zero Waste Scotland funded three Zero Waste Towns with matched funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) - Perth, Leith, and the South-Central Edinburgh area. They were designated as Zero Waste Towns, having developed plans for taking zero waste approaches to life and business within the community. The different initiatives not only focussed on more planet friendly innovations, but they aimed to provide upskilling opportunities to facilitate circular activities going into the future, for example associated with repair and maintenance.
Enscape engaged with the delivery teams involved in delivering a wide range of different initiatives associated with the different programmes and evidence was gathered through interviews and data collation to support a subsequent review. In addition, a brief summary report was provided for organisations that delivered two previous Zero Waste Town projects - Bute and Dunbar.
