Food & Drink Waste Reduction Research

Zero Waste Scotland appointed Enscape Consulting to carry out research (2025-26) to find out more about what organisations are doing to reduce their food and drink waste, as well as to understand the barriers and opportunities in the future.  This work entailed engaging with organisations working in the following sectors:

  • Hospitality e.g. hotels, restaurants and other eating places
  • Food and drink manufacturing
  • Retail and wholesale

 

This research was produced to provide Zero Waste Scotland with a considered report with valuable insights, highlighting barriers and support requirements for the different sectors.  The aim is that these insights provide evidence and approaches that help shape Zero Waste Scotlands future business support offering
