Circular Economy and Socioeconomic Impacts
Enscape has carried out research and feasibility studies for clients such as Zero Waste Scotland, the Highland Council and Aberdeenshire Council, on the potential value associated with establishing reuse projects. These cover both the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of setting up projects, considering the potential of town centre and household waste recycling centre locations.
The team has quantified the added value, job creation and skills development opportunities and can bring this expertise to similar research projects across the country. Projects are always underpinned by extensive stakeholder engagement and surveys, to understand how to deliver new projects that build on what is already available within a town or region.
Job creation from reuse is significant, and opportunities for growth have been identified across the country, including rural areas demonstrating the value of reuse over recycling, where the latter tends to focus on collection and logistics that then involve materials being moved out of the country.
