Enscape delivered a study for Zero Waste Scotland on the management options for fishfarm waste produced in the country.  

This 2016, “Zero Waste Report – Fish Mortalities in Scotland”  investigates suitable alternative Animal By Product compliant disposal routes for Scottish finfish farming waste.  The outputs from this work provided the basis for a change to legislation on the practice of burying mortalities.

The above report was followed, in 2018 by further work, involving research into fish mortalities, historically and projections up to 2030 - considering disease risks, pathways etc, seasonality factors, and the extent to which waste management infrastructure can manage different levels of mortality events.
